With the first frosts of the year, interior designer Sashya Thind has shared with us her secrets for creating a soft and refined atmosphere in our home that allows us to warm up.

WHAT IS WARM MINIMALISM?

For me, warm minimalism is a welcoming space that brings a sense of calm. The simplest details are the ones that reveal the best design and the minimalist and warm aesthetic invites us to take a break and get away from our busy daily rhythm. In other words, it's a relaxing sensory experience ."

BET ON THE NATURAL

“Natural materials such as stone or wood that transmit softness and warmth and at the same time ".

LIMIT COLOR

“In general, I recommend those that reflect light, such as white, and use only one or two colors.”

ADD TEXTURE

“We played with the textures of the carpets, the fabrics on the furniture and the curtains that dress the windows. For example, the experience of walking barefoot on a Flokati rug is both minimalist and luxurious. Of course, it is always important to take into account the lifestyle of the inhabitants (if it is a family, if there are pets, etc.) to choose the most appropriate textures."

REARRANGE THE SPACES

“A big part of our job is to create a natural and fluid transition between rooms . Simplicity and fluidity go hand in hand with minimalism and are key elements in creating the desired atmosphere”.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT LIGHTING

“The idea is to make a transition between day and night . Think about the activities that take place in each room (if the room is an office for working, if it is a rest area, etc.). Next, consider who is doing the activity and at what time, and then decide on the lighting you will need. Do not forget the environment in which you live: if your city is sunny or is usually cloudy, if the orientation of your house allows light to enter throughout the day or just a few hours... your experience will allow you to adapt and hit the intensity of the lighting you need for your home ”.

INTRODUCE PLANTS INDOORS

Creating a connection with nature, even indoors, is something that is necessary for the human being and we are firm defenders of it. The green tones of the plants contribute to a calm environment and the natural presence in a space is always comforting, especially during the long winter months."
