Interior Design Process

Our work is a response to how we see our clients, the architecture of the space and the experience we wish to create for them.

Warm Minimalism is an integral part of our design thinking and provides a framework for all our projects. We believe that this framework allows the people who inhabit the spaces we design, to grow into them over time while providing them warmth and comfort.

Trusting the process we have developed over the last 20 years is key to creating a space that resonates with you and is executed in a seamless way.

— Our process is designed to create a “narrative” for your space that drives the design decisions throughout the project. Every ‘why’ in the project is answered by this narrative.
— This is done through an in depth interview of the decision makers and contributors
— We also have a questionnaire that captures all your preferences, likes and dislikes. The questions are formulated to inform the experience or feeling you wish to have within the newly designed space.
— Through the questionnaire, a few walkthroughs and several conversations, we are able to prioritize what we absolutely need to solve for. Problem solving is key in addition to creating an aesthetically inspiring space that will endure the test of time. This is a very intimate and intuitive exercise that is designed to get to know our clients.
— We want to go beneath the surface to design a space that will be a reflection of your values.
— Although we are well aware of the trends in the industry, we use every opportunity to revisit and redefine our own standards of good design and our contribution to the built environment.
— We offer you two directions of which one is developed into the final outcome. We use a material pallete, 3d renderings and views to communicate the concepts.
— Our approach embraces handmade, high quality, sustainably sourced materials, resulting in thoughtfully curated, artisanal spaces. We do not subscribe to the throw away culture and guide our clients to make conscious decisions.

We are brought on to the team early, where we interface with the Client and participate in the initial and ongoing discussions that lead to a better understanding of the goals and drivers for the project. We have worked with Architects and Developers over the years on Residential, Commercial and Institutional work to better serve the client and streamline the process for all team members.

Home Buyers

With over 20 years of experience in the field of architecture and interior design and having advised our clients through minor and major renovations, we have a finger on the pulse of the construction industry. As you are faced with making these crucial decisions within a short window of time, we can offer our design opinion on what you can and can’t achieve within certain properties.

Our service includes the following:

Walkthough of the property to evaluate the existing condition
Gain an understanding of the buyers future needs
We can provide a Report on our evaluation and feedback based on the criteria discussed
We provide minimum ranges for estimates as they can vary on final selections of materials, specifications and final scope of work

We are not Realtors, Structural Engineers, Contractors or Architects. Our report is not to be used a legal document. It is only to be used as a design guide on what to expect. Any estimates we provide are subject to market conditions and are valid for a period of 6 months.

We are a boutique design firm that believes in commitment to creativity and excellence. For these reasons, we limit the number of commissions we take on at a time to fully invest our time and resources.
